Update the app first. Then update OpenClaw.

  1. Install LocalClaw 1.0.207 once. If you have 1.0.206 or earlier, your current updater still opens the DMG: replace LocalClaw in Applications one last time, then open the installed app.
  2. Use Updates for the next releases. Click Update under App update to download, verify, install and relaunch LocalClaw. Or click Update all: dependencies and OpenClaw update first, then LocalClaw installs and relaunches last.
  3. Update OpenClaw from the same screen. LocalClaw coordinates maintenance of the selected Gateway and checks its version and health afterward. Any plugin capability review remains yours to approve.

Automatic installation needs write access to the Applications folder containing LocalClaw. If your shared Applications folder is protected, install LocalClaw once in ~/Applications, the Applications folder in your home folder. Your saved license, OpenClaw configuration and workspaces stay in place.

Installation steps

    Download the .dmg file

    Click the download button above.

    First install: open the .dmg and drag to Applications

    Double-click the downloaded file, then drag LocalClaw to your Applications folder. From version 1.0.207 onward, install future updates inside the app.

    Launch LocalClaw

    Open it from your Applications folder or Launchpad.

    Enter your email + license key → Activate

    Activation requires email + license key and a one-time internet check. Your key is shown on the verified confirmation page after payment. Save it somewhere safe.

FAQ

Yes. The current LocalClaw DMG is signed with a Developer ID certificate and notarized by Apple, so macOS Gatekeeper can verify it before launch.

Notarization is Apple security scanning and ticketing. It is not App Store distribution or an Apple endorsement.

If macOS still shows a warning because of local security settings, right-click (or Control-click) the app icon and choose Open.

When you launch LocalClaw for the first time, an Activation screen will appear automatically.

Enter the email address you used during purchase and the license key from your verified confirmation page, then click Activate. Activation requires a one-time internet check.

Check these common causes:

  • Make sure you're using the exact email from your purchase confirmation
  • Copy-paste the license key to avoid typos (no extra spaces)
  • Check your internet connection — activation requires a one-time online check
  • Make sure the license hasn't been used on more than the allowed machines
