What it does
The official 33.3 MB GGUF contains a 13.8M-parameter motion generator and its text encoder and tokenizer, totaling 20.0M parameters. Build the C11 runtime with make build/examples/01_hello, download SprongMotion-14M-v1.0-Q8_0.gguf, and pass the model path, English prompt and output BVH path to that executable. Upstream documents macOS arm64, Linux x86-64, Windows x86-64 through MinGW-w64, and WebAssembly. A LocalClaw macOS CPU smoke test on 2026-10-23 verified the published SHA-256 and exported 80 frames at 20 fps with about 40 MB peak resident memory. The 4 GB RAM entry is a conservative whole-system recommendation, not an upstream measured minimum; no dedicated VRAM is required.
Strengths
- Canonical downloadable model and dependency-free C11 runtime under Apache 2.0
- CPU-only local inference with BVH export verified on macOS
- Supports motion editing, looping, prompt timelines and root-path control
Limits to know
- English prompts and a fixed 22-joint skeleton without fingers
- Individual clips are limited to 0.5-10 seconds; longer motion uses multiple prompt blocks
- Produces skeletal motion, not meshes or automatic skinning; Linux, Windows and browser support are upstream documented rather than locally tested
